One Year with NLM and Chicago Auto Show

At this point, it's been two weeks since my one year anniversary, but I'm still feeling it necessary to do a post about it anyways.

On Feb. 4, I celebrated my one year with Naked Lime Marketing. That marks one year since I officially became a "real adult" with my first big kid job. I came into work on Tuesday to find my cube decorated (thanks Josh!) and it just so happened it matched exactly what I was wearing. How did he know exactly what I was going to wear!? Coincidence? Maybe.

I'm so thankful for this job. I've made amazing friends, and if it weren't for this job, I probably never would have met T. I have learned so much at my job and continue to learn more each day. Not only have I learned to handle many accounts at one time, but I've learned further to deal with problem customers and learned a lot about the SEO world. I have personal goals for the future, including learning the Digital Advertising service that we have, and (hopefully) being promoted. My life has changed so much since I started at NLM; I've moved out, bought a "big girl" bed, bought a new car, bought a new tv, started dating a new guy, moved in with a roommate and [sort of] got a new dog. I've learned to play volleyball and continued playing softball and I've started shooting weddings as a first shooter, and have a few more weddings this summer on my own. I think I can honestly say this year has really changed my life for the better and it all started because of Naked Lime.

As I mentioned before, I'm finally getting to start using my photography skills at work! I got to go to the Detroit Auto Show last month, and the week of my anniversary, I got to head up to Chicago, for their Auto Show. It was a lot different than Detroit, that's for sure. First of all, we got press passes, which was super awesome! We got to see all the cars debuted right in front of us, and we got free food for every meal, and we got to meet a lot of other people who write for big name publications! While sitting waiting for Subaru to reveal the 2015 Legacy, I met a photographer from Cars.com and at lunch, I met two writers for Autoblog.com. It was pretty sweet. The best though, was at breakfast on the first day, I met a gentleman who gave us a lot of advice and tips and tricks. He was an older guy who had been around shows for a long time. It was really cool getting to hear his experiences and advice and it was even better when he was the last person we ran into in the pressroom before we left. The drive sucked because it was longer and it was snowy, and we ended up renting a GMC Yukon. The hotel staff was not as friendly as they were in Detroit, but the hotel was very pretty.
